Welcome
to MyDyslexia.com. My name is Marlin Gehman, and I would like to
share my trials
and my successes with dyslexia.
I was born in 1963 and I lived my whole life 20 miles north of
Philadelphia Pa. I was in special reading
classes all through grade school. I graduated 12th grade with 6th grade
reading skills. I did not go to college. I was not diagnosed with dyslexia
until 1996.
My youngest daughter Carrie, was diagnosed
with dyslexia at the age of seven. Carrie's special reading teacher told me the best way to
help her would be to teach her the techniques that I use and have learned over the
years. My techniques will give her a
foundation that will make learning easier for her. She can start from
what I have learned in life versus starting from scratch.
I want to
share what I have learned, and how I have compensated for my dyslexia and
hopefully it will be of help to others.
